Accept Challenges
It is not natural to celebrate when troubles come. Many of us do not say, ‘Thank
you Lord, for the hurdles that have hindered my progress.’ You would be accused
of being a witch if you thanked God for having an abortion or loosing a dear one.
But surprisingly, God experts us not to be crushed by our problems. We are
told; in everything give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you.
Paul and Silas obeyed God, they sang and worshiped God when they should
have been weeping. What was the outcome? God turned the table on their enemies.
We realize that when we remain joyful during the difficult times, it sets us on
a course to maturity so that we can receive everything God has for us.
We are told that the key to growing is how you handle adversity. If you get
negative and sour on life, you will not pass the test. If you complain like the
Israelite in the wilderness, you will never get to the Promised Land. God wants
us to use our problems as a stepping-stone to our promotions and lifting. It worked
for Joseph; it will work for you if you allow God.
When someone offends you as surely as you would, you have to decide that you
are not going to be upset. When things don’t go your way, instead of starting a
World War, thank God for an opportunity to grow and the privilege to see things
from a different angle. Trust God and rejoice even as he has commanded.
