Despite Storms And Challenges, Success is Inevitable

Fear, we are told is a dark shadow that envelops us and ultimately imprisons us within ourselves. A storms on the Sea of Galilee so frightened the disciples that they forgot Jesus was in the boat. In fact , they were almost accusing Him of being indifference to their safety. But at His command the storm ceased.

David was very bold even as young shepherd. What was the secret of his courage and confidence? He saw God as his stronghold and the shepherd of his life. So he lived daily inside God’s protective arms. We can do the same. To dispel and destroy fear, we must see God as our stronghold. Fear and fright can be discussed with Him. If we are convinced that His strong arms surround us, we will not loose our peace in bad weather or looming troubles.

Just as fulgurites are formed when lightning strikes sand, God also generates in us ‘out of this world wisdom’, from life storms. If we are attentive, God can teach us rare truth not learnt elsewhere. Storms should not destroy or discourage us. Storms should drive us closer to the shepherd of our soul. Storms, God may allow, revealing the face and power of our God. In job 42:5 we read ‘I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee’. May you see the face of the Master in your storm.
