A New Way of Thinking

Every Nigerian has a right to be happy and prosperous. As a nation, we’ve been blessed with so many resources. Yet many are still suffering in the midst of plenty. Some hardly have what to eat, while others lack basic amenities that make life comfortable.

The reason for this isn’t that we don’t have enough; it’s because we haven’t properly harnessed our God-given resources. We ought to honestly ask ourselves what we’ve done with all we’ve been given. How have we used the human and natural resources freely given to us to improve our country? God has done His own part by giving us everything we need; it’s up to us now to harness those things for our profits.

The first thing we need in this regard is a new way of thinking; productivity thinking! The Bible tells us how Joseph grew Egypt’s economy:  “And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number… And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because of the famine was so sore in all lands” (Genesis 41:49,57).

We have what it takes to make this happen in our country; we have the brains and also the materials. All that’s left is the inner fortitude to make a decision for success and abide by it. Don’t be left out of the wind of change that’s blowing in our country today. Let’s make Nigeria the land of opportunities she’s meant to be. Let’s be productive and help solve the problems of other nations.
